8/6/16 – Father John Misty – Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins)

Father John Misty is kind of an anomaly to me. Depending on who you’re talking to he’s either totally under-rated and a genius, or massively over-rated and kinda douchey. Personally, I’m a pretty big fan. I enjoyed the debut album Fear Fun but didn’t really get super into it until after I Love You, Honeybear.

Today I kind of woke up with a double dose of FJM, primarily was the song above, “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins),” but also found myself singing parts of “The Ideal Husband,” which is another fantastic tune off the sophomore release.

My Rating: For “Chateau Lobby” ⭐⭐⭐, For Ideal Husband: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last Time I heard it: Last night. I’m currently re-watching the Netflix series Master Of None (which has one of the best soundtracks I’ve heard in ages) and there is a scene where he actually at a FJM show, and they are playing this song.

Also Master of None is a must-watch, funny, and poignant show.
