I’ve never really liked ’80s pop music. I’ve talked about it here before, but I feel like no other artist or group embodies what I don’t like about ’80s pop more than Depeche Mode. Most of their songs are overly dramatic and sound like people that really want to be taken seriously and thought of as cool. This song is a bit of an exception to that, because it’s ridiculous bubble gum pop.

I am still not a fan though. The song is super repetitive and has an annoying saccharine melody. The best part about it is the ridiculous video. They just look silly. Also what is up with this album cover? A fake swan on a poorly constructed nest wrapped in plastic? Is it supposed to be some kind of environmental message? Just looks cheap.

My rating: ⭐⭐ (putting two because it’s honestly not the worst Depeche Mode song)
