01/31/2017 – OutKast – The Whole World

OutKast is easily one of, if not the, greatest hip-hop group of the past 2 decades. That feels like a bold statement to make, but I don’t think you’d get much of an argument from anyone disputing it. They were hugely influential in defining the ATL sound and the general Southern Rap sound. Andre 3000 is one of the most creative and experimental rappers out there, and Big Boi has consistently been fantastic throughout his entire career with OutKast, his solo albums, and the many, many features and collaborations he’s done with other acts.

Throw Killer Mike on top of an OutKast song and you’ve got a recipe for something great. This is maybe not OutKast’s best tune, but it’s solid all the way through and has an incredibly catchy hook.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Last Time I Heard It: Yesterday. Youtube knows me too well. It popped up on my list of recommended videos and as soon as the hook popped in my head I had to put it on.
